The Brazilian Soil Spectral Library is a database of soil spectra from various regions of the country. It was built from the efforts of the Soil Science Geotechnologies Group of the ESALQ/USP Soil Science Department, coordinated by Prof. José Alexandre M. Demattê, with the collaboration of 61 researchers and 41 institutions from all over the country reaching 50,000 samples. Its purposes are: a) pedagogical to understand how this technology works, b) to create a dynamic that allows communication between working groups, c) to allow the free use of the technology for pedology and soil analysis purposes.
