The Brazilian Soil Spectral Library is a database of soil spectra from various regions of the country. It was built from the efforts of the Soil Science Geotechnologies Group of the ESALQ/USP Soil Science Department, coordinated by Prof. JosĂ© Alexandre M. DemattĂȘ, with the collaboration of 61 researchers and 41 institutions from all over the country reaching 50,000 samples. Its purposes are: a) pedagogical to understand how this technology works, b) to create a dynamic that allows communication between working groups, c) to allow the free use of the technology for pedology and soil analysis purposes.
